If I select settings I can see the 'device status', which is 'Connected' and the device is set to be connected on power on. In addition it says that 'the device uses serial port 1 of the virtual machine' (?).bobnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7534848307469799413.post-20257362109998670182012-09-26T21:43:26.260+07:002012-09-26T21:43:26.260+07:00on my vmware, i can see VM > Removable Devices ...on my vmware, i can see VM > Removable Devices > Printers.
Do you have that option on your VMware?Willy Sudiarto Raharjohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12738382924950315620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7534848307469799413.post-57887701584698464492012-09-26T21:40:47.078+07:002012-09-26T21:40:47.078+07:00Thanks for your answer, Willy.

I have it working on slackware64-current. But on both winXp and win7 guests I can't get my printers directly connected to USB ports, in the sense that I can't see any USB port available. And even when I plug a pen drive it is recognized by slackware and not by the guest. The same issue with the last VMware 9.0.

At this stage I 'm going to suppose that it can be a slackware configuration problem.. Do you switch anything in the kernel with respect to the default slackware-current config?

thanks for any answerbobnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7534848307469799413.post-78385967752206498382012-08-21T01:22:03.101+07:002012-08-21T01:22:03.101+07:00Vlware Workstation Linux itu Free Pak?Vlware Workstation Linux itu Free Pak?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06679861766601947369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7534848307469799413.post-57799286365575449662012-05-13T19:33:08.340+07:002012-05-13T19:33:08.340+07:00first, remove the previous configuration like ment...first, remove the previous configuration like mentioned on my blog post, then you can start the installation with --ignore-errors parameter.
I have used that on all of my machines and it workedWilly Sudiarto Raharjohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12738382924950315620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7534848307469799413.post-7534283240634699412012-05-13T18:49:29.779+07:002012-05-13T18:49:29.779+07:00Anyone else looking at this if the installer hangs...Anyone else looking at this if the installer hangs with glibc malloc errors even with the --ignore-errors then kepp pressing CTRL+C until it quits. Then start it up again and again until it is installed and then apply the patch.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
